example_article_1My inspiration to get this started was when I first met Megan Frisco. She worked in the recreational therapy branch at the Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in Westchester County, New York. She introduced me to an entirely new world of of training and helping people...Adaptive sports. While I had some knowledge about it due to friends being involved in adaptive skiing programs years ago, I had yet to really understand how much of a need existed for this particular audience. Through a great deal of effort we managed to get a group to participate at our local facility in Stamford, CT but then migrated to the Burke facility which was more centrally located for the participants. From there we held on-site sessions and was able to work with individuals in person through the benefits of boxing. It quickly became a hit.

Fast forward to 2020, the pandemic ultimately created a new opportunity for individuals to workout and get fit in their homes. There was no longer the need to travel and participants were able to have classes scheduled and they could attend in the comfort of their own home. The response to the format was a success! Why not do a high-intensity, fun workout where you take your own pace with an awsome group of people? I don't know, you tell me!! :)
